Sometimes love hurts

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. {author: or, beginner} For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:1-6 KJV)

Despise not the chastening of the Lord because God chastens every one He receives. God is love and He loves all His children. It seems like most of us learn the hard way. Don’t touch that you will get burned. Ouch! I told you. If we never got burned the lesson may not stick in our minds, and the possibility of getting burned later my happen anyway. We must also be hurt out of every deception the adversary has a foot hold on in our lives. It is the only way we will let go of something that we may desire yet is hurting us in some way. Sometimes we have become so hardened in our hearts that the word of God will not penetrate our desires. It is then that the chastening of the Lord is necessary so we will not fall into a deeper temptation or even turn away from God and His blessings.

When we are in tune with God and His word we will hear God’s word speak to us and the deception will be brought to the light and we will be cut to the heart by His word and then turn from the deceptions we may encounter in life. This becomes a learning experience maybe a revelation of God’s will to you and a blessing. You will find that after going through the fire of a tribulation or a subtle nudge from God’s word that you will understand the purpose and wisdom of God’s loving discipline to keep you in His blessings and away from the deceptions of the adversary. God loves those He chastens.

“Then cometh He to His disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners” (Matthew 26:45 KJV).

The disciples went to sleep while Christ was in prayer with His Father, saying “not my will, but Your will be done.” The third time Jesus found His disciples asleep he said “Sleep on now, and take your rest” The time had come and the time for prayer was over and His disciples heard; Sleep on now.

Jesus prayed for us in John chapter 17, and we are to go out and do good works (Ephesians 2:10). Are you listening to God’s word? Are you applying and practicing your faith? Would Jesus say to you, “sleep on, now the time has come and you have not done the will of God”, or are you going to hear “Well done good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things.  I will make you ruler over many, enter into the joy of Your Lord…”

If you truly believe in God’s word your actions will reflect what you believe, because we do what we believe and you are what you do. Check yourself and ask, what am I doing and it will tell you what you believe.

If we are not doing God’s will, we are sleeping. Christ is counting on you and me to go and make disciples of all nations and to teach them all the things that Jesus commanded. I hope you will hear when Jesus comes to you, well done good and faithful servant and not sleep on now.

Christ our Healer Part 2

The significance of prayer and anointing by the elders

Part 1 of 2

Prayer is the commune with God and can move the hands that hold all things together.

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:13-16 KJV).

Those among you, the prayer of the elders, confession of sin, and the Lord for the body.

The Significance of prayer and the anointing by the elders is multifaceted. We have the sick calling to the elders, the prayer of the elders, the anointing of oil by the elders in the name of our Lord, the prayer of faith and the confession of our faults that we may be healed.

We see that the sick, which are “among you” must call on the elders of the church for healing. Those among you are referring to those in the church. A.B. Simpson would call this kind of healing “the Lord for the body”.

“He based his interpretation on the fact that Christ ministers to the believer as a whole person. This kind of healing is not always immediate. For the Christian, the correction of a physical condition sometimes requires the correction of a spiritual condition. The believer does not seek healing as an isolated experience. It comes within the context of his total walk with God”

Based on Pastor Simpson’s bases not all healings are immediate lines up with Mark 16:18 “they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:18 KJV). They shall recover is not always immediately. And the correction of a physical condition sometimes requires the correction of a spiritual condition, which is the confession of sin. If the believer is walking in the spirit, they will be walking a lifestyle of repentance and striving for Christ-likeness. This is the total walk with God I believe Pastor Simpson is talking about. David was a man after God’s own heart not because he was sinless but he knew that obedience was better than sacrifices and repented before God to stay in right relationship with Him. We also see that those “among you” are to pray for one another that they may be healed. Then the elders will pray from them anointing them with oil in the name of Jesus.

The elders are those that have been appointed as overseers or here in James they are called presbyters. His qualification can be seen in 1 Timothy 3:1-13, for Bishops (Episkopo, overseer or a superintendent) and deacons.

These elders where to anoint with oil in the name of Jesus. In Mark 6:7 Jesus commanded the twelve to go and in verse 13, it says;

And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. (Mark 6:13 KJV)

There was an anointing of oil and they were healed. In that time oil was used for healing the sick and even wounds like in the story of the good Samaritan. But it can also represent the agent of the Holy Spirit and the virtue of the gifts of the Spirit, (i.e. the gift of healing or miracles) and the present of our Lord.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (Psalms 45:7 KJV)

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: (Psalms 89:20 KJV)

Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. (Zechariah 4:11-14 KJV)

We can see in these verses the approval of God and the anointing of oil on those who love righteousness, are God’s servant and those who stand by the Lord. Also in Psalms 133 we can see God’s anointing as plentiful and His covering of approval.

Yet it is always in the name of the Lord that we ask God to do anything and healing is no exception. It is the expression of believing in His finished atoning work as Christ our Saviour, Christ our Sanctifier, Christ our Healer, and Christ our coming King. Peter after the healing of the lame man and the astonishment of the people who looked at him if he had done some great miracle straightens them out by giving God the glory by saying in Act 3:16, “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (Acts 3:16 KJV). It is truly about Jesus and His will for us.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” Fervent is the Greek word, ενεργεω, energeo S.C. 1754 which means – to be active, be mighty in, to produce an effect. When God’s Holy Spirit gives in this case the elders of the church an unction to pray for the sick, He is giving them a fervent or an effectual mighty working prayer that will produce healing.

Here the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the effectual fervent prayer avails much, healing in the sick.

The sick, from the Greek word S.C. 770 – ασθενεω, astheneo – to be feeble (in any sense): – diseased, impotent, sick, weak. This can be in any sense physical, spiritual or a feeble soul, (Luke 4:40; John 4:46-47; Acts 9:36-41 and Phil 2:26).

So I believe that God can heal us in body, soul and spirit, when those among the church call on the elders to pray for the sick, through the anointing of oil in the name of our Lord and the fervent prayer of the righteous man will avail much in those who are walking in the will of God.

Christ our Healer Part 1

The relationship of divine healing and the atonement

Part 4 of 1

Luke 4:18 continues “and recovering of sight to the blind”

Jesus came for the recovering of sight to the blind, to restore the mental and physical sight to those who cannot see clearly or not at all. Again we know Jesus healed the physically blind, you can find examples in Mark 8:22-26 and in Mark 10:46-52.

He convinced Nicodemus of his need to be born again spiritually which in turns saves his eternal soul. Let’s take a look at John Chapter 9. The man who was blind from birth.

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him, [this is for God’s glory]. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. (John 9:1-7 KJV) {brackets are mine}

Later the Pharisees confronted him and the one who was blind told them in verse 25 “Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25 KJV)

He received his physical sight. Later in verses 35-38 we find out he receives sight for his soul and spirit.

“Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. (John 9:35-38 KJV)

Now he believed in the Christ. His mind, soul and heart were opened. He received spiritual sight and worshipped the living God. He was blind but now he sees, in body, soul and spirit. Yes, Jesus came to preach the gospel to the physically blind, so they can see. To those whose souls are seared so they can perceive the truth and to the spiritually blind so they can receive salvation. Yet so many are still blind and turn away only to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah quoted in John 12:40,

“He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.” (John 12:40 KJV)

Many turn away and refuse to hear with their ears, the mind or their heart. But to those who hear the gospel of Christ “it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16 KJV).

And God will heal those who hear and believe in their hearts and are converted.

Luke 4:18 continues to say, “to set at liberty them that are bruised” Jesus came to set at liberty them that are bruised. To dismiss, pardon and set free them that are crushed.

For an example let’s turn to Matthew 15:21-23.

Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. “But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. (Matthew 15:21-23 KJV)

The Canaanite women, she was a gentile or non-Jew, and back in that day something possibly even worse a Samaritan, a half breed… whose daughter was grievously vexed by a devil, she cried out to Jesus !!“Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David”! “But he [Jesus] answered her not a word.”

She must have felt like a dog. That is the way Jews treated half breeds, the Samaritans, that is, as dogs. She must have been at her wits end, knowing with her daughter’s condition and torment, to even cry out to a Jew. Physically and emotionally distraught and now she is crying out to Jesus to seek help from God and it looks as if God doesn’t even hear her and on top of that, the disciples want to send her away. BUT GOD! In Matthew 15 and verses 24-28 say:

But he [Jesus] answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet [that is suitable] to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. (Matthew 15:24-28 KJV) [brackets and emphasis mine].

Jesus talked to her but at first it was not what she wanted to hear. “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel” Which she was not a part of, but she worshipped Him. And pleaded her cause saying, help me… Once again she is reminded, she is not an equal, and trapped in this world with the only chance for her daughter before her. So she humbled herself once again and said that even the dog or the canine house pet eats the food that falls from their masters’ table. She was acknowledging Jesus as her Master and wants for His reply… Jesus acknowledges her faith. ! “great is your faith” and grants her petition. Now Jesus only said great is your faith to two people and neither of them were Jews. The other was a Roman Centurion in Matthew 8:5-10.

Jesus set her daughter free from her possession in turn setting the Canaanite woman and the Canaanite people free who were bruised and crushed in body, soul and spirit. They had no hope from their physical status which crushed their soul and had no way to worship God in spirit and in truth. But now Jesus sets at liberty them that are bruised. And gives not only the Canaanite woman hope but also the whole nation hope, in body, soul and most importantly, in spirit knowing God loves them and salvation is not for the Jews only.

Yes, Jesus came to set at liberty them that are bruised and crushed physically spiritually and whose soul is without hope. His atoning sacrifice makes divine healing possible in our triune being.

 Initiative

God does not give us overcoming life, He gives us life as we overcome

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:1-5 KJV).

Our experiences give us hope when we look to Jesus and get to the other side of our problems, trials or tribulations. Jesus told the man with the withered hand to stretch forth thine hand. The man, not Jesus, took the initiative to start moving his hand toward Jesus and his withered hand become whole when he stretched it forth. Spiritual initiative comes by faith. Faith as little as a mustard seed.  What is Jesus asking you to do today?  Take the spiritual initiative today, so He can give you life as you overcome your doubts and tribulations.

In Christ,

Greg

 Victory with God

“The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.” (Isaiah 60:19-22 KJV).

Walking in God’s glory and bringing God’s glory to others changes the atmosphere we can affect. God is our source of light and life, for without light, you cannot find your way, there is no life, no truth, and no hope. (John 14:6). With God and His glory, we have light. We shall all be righteous, (because we are walking with Him). We shall inherit the land, the branch of God’s planting (His provisions). The works of God’s hands we will inherit that we may glorify God. He will be El Shaddai, El Gabor, The Mighty God. God Almighty, Who can give us the power as a little one to become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. All in God’s providential timing. Hallelujah.

Can you see that when we walk with Jesus, as He is in the light, we are in the light being glory to God and others?  This is fellowship not isolation. (I am going to read my Bible on my bed or in my chair, I am the church, Lies and a trick of the devil we must walk with God in fellowship with Him and His church). Yes, you can study the word by yourself but if you do only that and live like the world, you have left your light and God’s glory in the secret closet. You are leaving your candle under a basket. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 – 16;

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16 KJV)

Fellowship is therefore a key for Holy living. I have a friend in Jesus, He walks with me and talks with me Along life’s narrow way.

I serve a risen Saviour, He’s in the world today
I know that He is living, whatever men may say
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer
And just the time I need Him He’s always near

He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Christ Jesus lives today
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way
He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Salvation to impart
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart

In all the world around me I see His loving care
And though my heart grows weary I never will despair
I know that He is leading, through all the stormy blast
The day of His appearing will come at last

He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Christ Jesus lives today
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way

Greg

Christ our Healer Part 1 Continued

The relationship of divine healing and the atonement

Part 3 of 1

Luke 4:18 goes on “He sent me to heal the brokenhearted. God has sent or dispatched His Son and set Him apart to heal, cure and make whole those who are crushed completely in heart, feelings and thoughts of the mind.

In a physical sense, Jesus healed the sick and those who had diseases.  If you don’t think He can heal heart disease, let us not forget He raised the dead, certainly the heart was broken and it was not beating at all… Jesus came to heal the physically broken hearted and I believe He can still do it today for His glory.

What about the soul?

1 Thessalonians 5:14 says, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.” (1 Thessalonians 5:14 KJV).

Comfort the feeble minded. Feeble minded is the Greek word ολίγοψέυχή, oligo-pseucha.

Oligo, is tiny or puny and pseucha is soul. A puny soul. Soul is the mind, will and emotions. So we are to comfort them who are in the state of despair. Those who have a tiny mind, will or emotional state, the feeble minded.

Look at Luke 7:11 & 12.

“And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.” (Luke 7:11-12 KJV).

We see here a widow at the funeral proceedings of her only son and last of her immediate family… I submit to you that she was destitute. Her very soul was in anguish and was puny, afflicted and emotionally tore up. Physically, she probably did not want to go on… The widow was left without financial support, both men and money makers were gone. Her soul was in agony from the loss of her husband and now her son.

Spiritually she was poor and probably asking God, WHY? Or maybe even turning her back on God, in disbelief. BUT GOD! Jesus is sent to heal the brokenhearted. Verses 13-15 say,

“And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.” (Luke 7:13-15 KJV)

He spoke to the man. His words are spirit and life to the body, soul and spirit. First, He physically healed the widow’s only son’s heart body and soul. In turn bringing life back to the widow’s body, soul and spirit.

Second, He revived the money maker so she could meet her physical needs. She wouldn’t need to worry about her every day needs. There was hope in the place of despair.

Third, He comforted her soul, emotions and mind to see her only son come back to life.

And lastly, God is glorified in verse 16, “And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.” (Luke 7:16 KJV)

God had not forsaken her and if her back was turned from God, it has now been turned once again toward her creator. Joy has filled her heart, body, soul and spirit.

Yes, Jesus came to heal those who are completely crushed in heart, feelings and thoughts of the mind. He has come to heal the brokenhearted, in body, soul and spirit.

In Christ,

Greg

 God Consciousness 2

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) {through God: or, to God} Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; {imaginations: or, reasonings} And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV).

Having a mind that is God conscious is also being mindful of your thoughts. We are in a spiritual battle and need to place every thought on the altar of sacrifice and see if it is worthy to enter our mind and share space in our heart with the Holy Spirit. What do you not know that you are the temple of God? We are supposed to guard our temple from the world and its desires that we may be holy as God is holy.

Here is a picture for you and wrong thoughts. As I look at the above verse, I see that we have weapons of warfare that are mighty through God to pull down strong holds and the ability to cast down imaginations or reasonings, as well as taking every thought into the obedience of Christ. So when a thought comes into your mind and it is not a faith-based, positive thought put it in handcuffs and bring it to the obedience of Christ. Say “Lord, this thought does not line up with Your word and I am bringing before You to cast it out of Your temple.”  In doing this you are having a readiness to revenge all disobedience and fulfill the obedience of God’s will.

The only way you can do this is to be mindful of your thoughts as the enter in and being God conscious so you can discern which thoughts line up with His word. Let God’s word judge your thoughts and imaginations so you can be an ambassador for God and walk in a victorious lifestyle. Place on the mind of your forehead and heart the signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. (Exodus 28:36 KJV)

In Christ,

Christ our Healer Part 1 Continued

The Relationship of Divine Healing and the Atonement

Continued

We are looking at the first part of why Jesus came, in Luke 4:18, using the key of three (body, soul ,and spirit); “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;”

Physically; Psalms 112:9 says “He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. (Psalms 112:9 KJV). He has dispersed, he has given to the poor. Certainly God looks after those who are in need. Matthew 6:33 says,

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33 KJV)

All these things He spoke about are your physical needs, food, drink and clothing. Physically, Jesus came to reconcile you back to God so you could seek the Kingdom of God once you heard the gospel message of His death, burial and resurrection and all these things shall be added unto you.

What about the soul, your eternal soul, your never dying soul?

Jesus came to save those who were lost. Psalms 142:7 says,

“Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.” (Psalms 142:7 KJV)

In prison we are afflicted, distressed and poor. Our souls are captive to our bodily desires which may lead us into the captivity of sin. O Lord bring my soul out of prison cries the Psalmist. And in Psalms 63:1, David cries out;

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; {thirsty, weary and without water}” (Psalms 63:1 KJV)

A soul which lacks the necessity of the salvation message longs for its spiritual filling. The soul can be spirit lead or bodily lead. First we need the leading of the Holy Spirit unto its creator, instead of the bodily leadership which leads to sin and death. The soul has the God shaped hole which needs the regeneration of the spirit to become rich. Without the regenerated spirit the soul is doomed to eternal separation from God and thus, is, poor, indeed. Jesus has come to preach the gospel to the poor in body and in soul but what about the spirit?

Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor in spirit, too. Jesus said, His words “are spirit and they are life”. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, Romans 1:16. And in John 5:24,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hearth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24 KJV)

Our spirit is regenerated. It was dead to us but once we believed the truth, the spirit was regenerated to eternal life!

Jesus said “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” poor in spirit, humble lowly and knowing its need for spiritual cleansing and growth. David said in Psalms 51:17,

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” (Psalms 51:17 KJV)

The broken spirit cries out as in Psalms 51:10, create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me, and in verse 12, restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and uphold me with Thy Free Spirit. Certainly Jesus preached the gospel message to save your body, soul and spirit.

In Christ,

Greg

Becoming aware.

Reality check.

Have you every stayed up all night? Maybe you were star gazing or out with friends. Then you become aware that the darkness of the night becomes lessened by the light of the sun as it rises. The world can be such a dark place where you may get caught up in the fads of the culture. You may be staring out into the world’s plethora of mind boggling technology, arts and events. But one day the word of God begins to enlighten you, and you begin to see the truth and as you grow into the maturity of God’s word.  You begin to see that it is not only about you. You become aware that you affect others around you and their eternal souls. You become aware of a new responsibility “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself” (Romans 14:7 MKJV). What you do affects others and their eternal destiny. Are you living in such a way that others will end up in heaven or…?
