The ministry in which we were involved was called “Decide Inside.”  It took place at the Sumter Correctional Institute, a state prison near Bushnell.

We worked in the “Youthful Offender” section, which is made up of young men ages 14 through 18.  We met with them weekly,  for 12 weeks, attempting to assist them to learn more about God, His plan of salvation, and how they can have a relationship with Him.  The curriculum we used was from an organization called OneHope.  The first six weeks consisted of a short DVD presentation and study book.  During the second six weeks, we discussed various topics, such as love, relationships, anger, respect, and forgiveness from a biblical perspective.

Our prayer has been that these young men will make a life-changing decision for Christ that will follow them during their imprisonment and for life.  We feel privileged that God allowed us to be involved in this ministry.

Eventually, the “Decide Inside” program was discontinued and we began ministering to adult men with Bible Studies, Q & A and worship.
