Happy Monday and Happy New Year!

I’m sure some of you are planning your new year and have made or plan on making some new year’s resolutions.

I don’t normally make resolutions. I just don’t believe that, for me, that is a positive thing.  The past two years, however, have been very unusual in almost every way.  Illness, discord, fear and confusion have become the new normal.

It really doesn’t have to be that way.

That being said, I thought of a few resolutions/goals that I want to focus on, no matter what the situation is.

#1.  I resolve to always try to remember that I can control and change a very limited number of things but our Father/God/Creator holds everything in His hands and can change it in the blink of an eye, if He chooses too.  Then remember His timing is perfect.

#2.  I resolve to be kinder.  Rudeness and sometimes, plain old meanness abound in our everyday world.  We may not be able to ignore it but we can choose not to participate.  Sometimes, a kind word or smile can change a rude/mean day.  If not, pray for them and walk away.  Don’t become part of it.

#3.  I resolve to focus more on gratitude.  I am blessed and never want to take that for granted.

#4.  I resolve to focus more on The Word and not all the negative words we are bombarded with on a daily basis.

#5.  I resolve to get my focus back on my health.  I want to serve God in what He nudges me to do.  I can only do that if I care for the body He created just for me.

I will stop at five, even though there are probably more that I should do.  Call them whatever you like but I encourage you all to think about what you can individually do to make this world we live in, just a little bit better, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual.  A smile is free and only takes a second.  Open a door for someone, get something off a grocery shelf for someone and always, pray for someone!

Happy New Year and may it be blessed in all the things that count.  True wealth comes, not from the outside, but from what dwells within!

Pray Unceasingly!!
