I became a mother at a young age. I wasn’t prepared to be a mother, but in that time, you just did what you needed to do. You learned what you needed to know.
I have tried many times to put myself in Mary’s sandals. It is my understanding that she was in her early teenage years. How did she feel when she was visited by an angel, telling her that she would give birth to the son of God? She was betrothed to Joseph. Was she devastated, wondering how he would react? Would he believe her? Would her parents believe her?
I think I have a lot of faith, but I don’t know if I would have had the faith to face what Mary was about to face. I can’t even begin to imagine what it would feel like, knowing what was coming.
One of my favorite songs has always been “Mary, Did You Know”. Just trying to put yourself in her place and feel what she must be feeling. The lyrics of the following song also touch me. This amazing change in Mary’s life would be permanent. Becoming a mother is life changing. The unconditional love is breathtaking.
And for Mary… A Baby Changes Everything.
I have included the you tube link for the song. If you get a chance, take a look. It is beautiful.
God Bless each of you and Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Savior.
Pray Unceasingly!!
In His light,
Lois
Luke 2:9-11 (KJV)
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
“A Baby Changes Everything”

Teenage girl, much too young
Unprepared for what’s to come
A baby changes everything
Not a ring
On her hand
All her dreams and all her plans
A baby changes everything
The man she loves she’s never touched
How will she Keep his trust
A baby changes everything
And she cries, oh she cries
She has to leave, go far away
Heaven knows she can’t stay
A baby changes everything
She can feel it’s coming soon
There’s no place, there’s no room
A baby changes everything
And she cries and she cries O she cries
Shepherds all… gather ’round
Up above… a star shines down…
Choir of Angels say
Glory to the newborn king
A baby changes everything
Everything, everything, every day
Hallelujah
My whole life is turned around
I was lost but now I’m found
A baby changes everything
A baby changes everything
