Certain in uncertainty. This is the spiritual walk in the Kingdom of God. How can this be? Let us look at some scriptures.
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. (James 4:13-14 NKJV)
We know not what tomorrow will bring, but we do know God’s word says in Romans 8:28, all things word together for the good… We can have certainty in uncertainty. James goes on to say,
Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” (James 4:13-15 NKJV)
This is walking out our faith in God’s theocracy. God is in control. When we realize and accept that He is Sovereign over His Providence, we can walk in confidence facing uncertainty. God loves us and only wants the best for His children.
Lord whatever this day may bring may I go through it with You knowing that in uncertainty You are there to save eternal souls from destruction and lead them into an abundant life with You. Help me walk in Your ways and hear Your still small voice that I may do Your will today and every day henceforth. In Jesus name. Amen.
In Christ,
Greg
