The Goodness of Sin

The goodness of sin? Where could sin be good? If it were not for the knowledge of sin, (missing the mark of perfection), you would not have known that you needed a Saviour! Sin’s goodness then is the acknowledgement of needing help where we fall short of God’s glory. When we fall short we realize we need to get back on track. If you were on a trail and wondered away from the beaten path you could find yourself in the perils of the wilderness. You would come to a point in which you would say, “I need to get back to the trail before it gets too late and the sun goes down.” Sin is the reminder that we are off the narrow way and we are walking away from the Son. Sin reminds us we need to pray, we need to line up with God’s word, we need to turn from the things of this world and get back on the narrow way, to a blessed spiritual path where Jesus shines on us with blessings. So, if you think of sinful thoughts or find yourself walking into the brier off the narrow way, thank God for the goodness of the conviction of sin and get back on the narrow way before the Son comes back again. Get right with God!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 KJV)
