Sick and tired of being sick and tired

The Interior Ministry

Once we have received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, there seems to be a lot of questions about our lifestyle. The Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance past immoral thoughts, words and deeds. What are we to do with them? Look to the Word of God.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NKJV)

When we confess our wrongs God will forgive us and cleanse us of all… unrighteousness. This is the Ministry of the Interior. It is sort of an interior house cleaning ministry. The more the Holy Spirit reveals to us the more confessing we can do. This leads to forgiveness and cleansing. The more we practice this ministry the more we break the strongholds on our lives and become free of the bondage of our past sin.

As we continue to read God’s Word we may come across a verse that reveals something that is contrary to our past way of thinking, for instance, “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” (1 John 3:15 NKJV). You may have thought, I am a good person I have not killed anyone. But God’s Word says whoever hates his brother is a murderer. Now I can remember saying “I hate you” in an angry disagreement before. Thank God for 1 John 1:9. What about you? Do you have a need for interior ministry?

Once we have the bulk of our interior cleansed through the Holy Spirit’s leading we can live a life of liberty. The chains are broken, I have been set free and now my soul is resting. What a beautiful state of being. But we are human. Full of emotions and impulses that may spill over on a bad day and we miss the mark of doing what is right. Now what? 1 John 1:9 and Matthew 5:22 and 23 might be a good start. Be reconciled to the one you have hurt in some way. Then the interior cleaning is done through1 John 1:9 and you can go back to resting in Christ Jesus. Little messes are so much easier to clean up than letting them gather to the point that they can become over whelming.

Get sick and tired of being sick and tired, of being in the bonds of past guilt and shame. Come to Jesus and confess your sin for “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 KJV). Begin your Interior Ministry today.

In Christ,

Greg
