Happy LAST Monday in January!

Have you looked around lately and really looked at the people you see?  Do you know them, or anything about them?  You see people laughing, but does that mean they are happy?  We really don’t know what is going on in most of their lives.

The suicide rate continues to increase.  The age-adjusted suicide rate in 2017 was 14.0 per 100,000 individuals.

Most of us aren’t going to be able to change that but what if a smile, an encouraging word, a prayer or even a hug, might give someone a ray of hope, a sense of direction just because someone cared.  So often, we become disengaged from the world around us.  We “mind our own business” because it doesn’t require anything from us.

I watched a video today of Tim Tebow.  I may not be a fan of football, but I am a fan of this faithful young man.  He is a young man whose mother was encouraged to abort him for health reasons.  She refused.  What a testimony he has become!  The following statement was the leader for the video.  All I could think of was what if we could all get this message to just one person, or one person a day!  To give just one person a sense of worth when they were feeling worthless.  To give them the message that they are loved and a precious child of God.  God has a perfect plan for their life.  Thank you Tim Tebow for this powerful message!

“You are a child of God. A son or daughter of the King. You were created in love, by love and for love. There is a GREAT plan and purpose for your life. My prayer is that if you feel less than, if you’re doubting, if you’re anxious, or you feel insecure, that you listen to the voice of truth which says that YOU are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you.” Romans 8:37 Excerpt from Passion2020 – The Voice of Truth.  It’s a powerful video.  (https://www.facebook.com/TimTebow/posts/1205395089659750)

Romans 8:37 New King James Version (NKJV)

37” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

 Can I suggest you look people in the eyes when you talk.  Sincerely ask them how they are and if they actually want to tell you, listen!  You just might be the one that changes their life.

Pray Unceasingly!!

In His light,

Lois

Psalm 31:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
