In our daily lives, we are constantly faced with projects, tasks, or personal goals.  Sometimes, they will be small and easily attainable.  More often, they are large and literally seem impossible!

If you look at the project as a whole, it probably seems overwhelming.  How on earth can a mere human do all of that?  The truth is, if you look at it alone and as a total project, you probably can’t.

But… if you take that very same project and break it down into steps, it suddenly becomes doable!  If you are entertaining a large number of people for dinner, do you just walk into the kitchen and make it magically happen?  It doesn’t work that way for me.  I first plan a guest list.  I then extend invitations.  Next, I will probably plan a menu, go shopping, prep ahead and then finally, prepare the meal and enjoy our guests.

The Daniel Plan is much the same.  If you look at it as a whole, you can become overwhelmed and give up before you ever start.  BUT, if you break it down by steps, it becomes doable.  You can increase your FAITH by spending more time in the Word and communicating with our Lord, Jesus Christ.  We can increase our FOCUS by deciding what we want to achieve, then take enough time to make a plan and stick to it.  We can enlist a FRIEND or few to encourage you, to hold you accountable and to love you through it.  We can choose to plan our FOOD to nourish our bodies and not our emotions.  We can also learn to adapt a FITNESS plan which will strengthen our bodies and our minds in all we do.

That’s what we are about.  Step by step we move forward, forging a rounded out lifestyle that can change our lives and build relationships that will last forever.

Step By Step

The Daniel Plan

In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. —Proverbs 3:6

Growth happens through a steady stream of little choices. If you want to eat in a better way, if you want to take care of your body and exercise more, it takes a series of small choices that add up to big results. You make small choices at every meal or every time you lace up your sneakers.

The same thing is true with your soul. Spiritual health is built up day after day, experience after experience. That’s why the Bible so often uses the metaphor of a path to follow step by step.

The beauty of adding food to your life that heals, nourishes, and satisfies you deeply is that bite by bite it will shift your body and mind into a state where you naturally crave what makes you thrive and feel good. The same is true in the spiritual realm: small dedicated choices will gradually shift your soul to crave the presence of God, which makes you thrive.

Food for Thought: Small choices add up to transformation and, bite by bite and step by step.
