We celebrate that our God is a speaking God who has revealed Himself to us. The Bible is our inspired text, which He will never contradict. We are commissioned to proclaim His message in word and deed. We will “not be ashamed of the gospel” but serve as “Christ’s ambassadors.” And so we ask ourselves, “Are we students of the Scripture? Do our sermons and life messages arise from the Word? Do we have a listening ear for His voice? Are our words and lives proclaiming His truth? Do we both ‘show’ and ‘tell’ the truth?”
Acts 1:8; Rom. 1:16; 2 Cor. 2:17, 4:5, 13; 5:11–21; 1 Tim. 4:15–16; 2 Tim. 3:14–4:6; 1 Peter 2:10–12
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16 KJV)
PROCLAIM what Jesus has done for you, for you are His Empowered Holy Ghost witnesses unto all the world.
For I am not ashamed… Do you feel ashamed as the world puts down Christianity? 1 Corinthians 1:8 says, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (KJV)
The word of God is quick (alive) and powerful (full of energy) and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)
God’s word is powerful it is the power (dunamis – super natural power) unto salvation! If you have ever been chastised or brushed off as foolish for your belief in the Gospel you may be gun shy. But I want you to know that they (those who don’t believe) are not rejecting you but GOD and His Gospel. The power is in God’s word and you have planted the seed of truth. While some plant and others water it is still God Who gives the increase. Let us PROCLAIM the Truth of the Gospel and not be ashamed for it can even divide the soul and spirit of a man. The battle then becomes theirs to see the need of their lost and need for a Saviour who will revive their spirit and join their spirit to their soul for eternal life, Salvation.
The whole Gospel in a nut shell was PROCLAIMED by Paul to Titus chapter 3.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; {abundantly: Gr. richly} That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:4-7 KJV)
Jesus Christ appeared to all mankind as he humbled Himself leaving the glory of His heavenly abode to live a sinless life and to die for our sins.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:4-8 KJV)
Here is another account
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: (1 Corinthians 15:1-5 KJV)
No matter how you present God’s word it is the powerful (dunamis, super natural power) unto salvation to everyone who believes!
POCLAIM God’s truth and be not ashamed of the Gospel knowing that it is the power of God unto salvation. As we proclaim God’s truths you are obeying God’s commandment of going out to teach what you have learned to all nations knowing that Jesus is with you even to the ends of the earth.
PROCLAIM the Good News and DWJD (Do What Jesus Did). Love one another in spirit and truth. Share with others the Good News for it is the power to save.
In Christ,
Greg
