Proclaim

We celebrate that our God is a speaking God who has revealed Himself to us. The Bible is our inspired text, which He will never contradict. We are commissioned to proclaim His message in word and deed. We will “not be ashamed of the gospel” but serve as “Christ’s ambassadors.” And so we ask ourselves, “Are we students of the Scripture? Do our sermons and life messages arise from the Word? Do we have a listening ear for His voice? Are our words and lives proclaiming His truth? Do we both ‘show’ and ‘tell’ the truth?”

Acts 1:8;                             Rom. 1:16; 2 Cor. 2:17, 4:5, 13; 5:11–21; 1 Tim. 4:15–16; 2 Tim. 3:14–4:6; 1 Peter 2:10–12

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8 KJV)

You will receive power, the Greek word is dunamis; which means – “ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle(-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.”

Where and when do you receive power? When you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! He gives us the Holy Spirit.

But I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7 MKJV)

The Comforter, the Holy Spirit gives us gifts as He wills. He empowers us to PROCLAIM God’s word through these gifts.

“For through the Spirit is given to one a word of wisdom; and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; and to another faith by the same Spirit; and to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; and to another workings of powers, to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; and to another kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues. But the one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing separately to each one as He desires.” (1 Corinthians 12:8-11 MKJV)

But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. (John 14:26 MKJV)

And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me. (John 15:26 MKJV)

However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you. (John 16:13-14 MKJV)

Behold, I give unto you power (authority, exusia power) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power (dunamos power) of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 KJV).

It appears that you should be able to do all things to through Christ who strengthens you and PROCLAIM all things to be His witnesses.

Acts 1:8 continues “ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Go back and look at all the underlined words in the verses above. He has given us all authority and power to DWJD (Do What Jesus Did), PROCLAIM the Good News.

We are to be witnesses Here are several verses that use the Greek word for witness(es), Martus: martyr, record, witness.

Ac 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Here we have a first-hand account of Peter saying we are His witnesses and so also is the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit witnesses to our spirit to help us PROCLAIM.

The Holy Spirit Who has given us the power, the fruit (Galatians 5:22,23) and the Gifts to GO and be witnesses to all people. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit from your conversion. You are a witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God. If you know one verse tell someone that verse and you will be a witness of the record.

Ac 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

Php 1:8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

A burden of God the Holy Spirit Who witnesses to our spirit. Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

We also have the witnesses of the Biblical accounts as such a great cloud of witnesses.

Heb 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Re 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan’s seat [is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas [was] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Re 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

We are to go PROCLAIM unto all the world (all mankind) and disciple and teach all things we know from our personal experiences to the Word of God knowing Jesus is with us always.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {teach…: or, make disciples, or, Christians of all nations} Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV)

PROCLAIM what Jesus has done for you, for you are His empowered Holy Ghost witnesses unto all the world.

In Christ,

Greg
