Jesus our Saviour: Continued

John the Baptist was sent to bear witness of the Light, (Jesus). Verses 7, 15, 29.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. (John 1:7, 9, 29, 34 KJV)

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Word, the Light, the life, and the way unto eternal Life. Jesus is the Savior! John was the witness in which God used to prepare the way. John the Baptist, Seeing Jesus in verse 36 said, “Behold the Lamb of God!” The Lamb of God is significant as the lamb was the sacrifice for sins. God’s plan from the beginning was substitutional sacrifice for sin. He made coats of skin for Adam and Eve to cover their nakedness. The coats were animal skin in which God sacrificed for them. Romans 3:23, 6:23 say,” For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 3:23; 6:23 KJV). There is no one who has not sinned. And the wages for sin is death. But God has made a way! Joh 1:29 Tells us that John the Baptist proclaimed “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Jesus is our Saviour!

Jesus told Nicodemus, a Pharisee, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:5-7 KJV). He also told Him that as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so shall the Son of man be lifted up. Jesus was fore telling Nicodemus that he was going to be the substitutional death for the new birth. Then He told him how.

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:15-18 KJV)

It is through God’s love and the giving of Himself, God’s only begotten Son, and faith. But whosoever does not believe is condemned already. Jesus paid the price for our salvation. He was crucified, buried, and arose again on the third day over coming death and then ascended into heaven so that we may receive the comforter the Holy Spirit as a seal of promise until the day of the redemption. John 1:12 says “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” If you believe in the Good News of Salvations, Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection you can become children of God! Born again! Romans 10:9and 10 say, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Whoso ever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Saved from the wages of sin, death! Eternal separation from God. Thank God we have a Saviour and He is in the world today!

I serve a risen Savior

He’s in the world today.

I know that He is living,

Whatever men may say.

I see His hand of mercy;

I hear His voice of cheer;

And just the time I need Him

He’s always near.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!

He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!

You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives within my heart.

2

In all the world around me

I see His loving care,

And though my heart grows weary,

I never will despair;

I know that He is leading,

Through all the stormy blast;

The day of His appearing

Will come at last.

3

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,

Lift up your voice and sing

Eternal hallelujahs

To Jesus Christ the King!

The Hope of all who seek Him,

The Help of all who find,

None other is so loving,

So good and kind.
