Happy Monday!

Only 9 days until Christmas and then … 7 days until a brand new, sparkling NEW Year begins!  So, how has your year been?  Have you accomplished what you hoped? Or do you possibly feel like you have been spinning your wheels for the last 12 months?  Sometimes, we are tempted to just drop out of the race and give up.

Your  race is not a 100-yard dash; it’s a marathon. It’s easy to begin a marathon well and it’s not too difficult to run a few miles. (At least for some people…) The test comes over the long haul. Will you endure to the end? In your own race, will you remain strong through all of the hardships, even unto death?

As a Christian will you be able to say with the apostle Paul, as he thought about his own death

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”  2 Timothy 4:7

2 Timothy 2:3 says: “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

Colossians 1:11 “being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience”

And last, but not least, James 1:2-3  “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

When the trials come, will you be able to endure?  Will you continue the race or will you drop out, defeated.

January brings with it new opportunities, fresh beginnings and setting aside the past in order to choose a better future.  Fight the good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith, all the way to the end of the race!

Pray Unceasingly!!

In His light,

Lois
