As I looked at the regular Daniel Plan devotions this morning, all I kept thinking was “I’ve got nothing.” I base the posts on what is on my heart that day and none of the DP ones seemed to fit at all today.
The thing that kept coming to my mind was just how great our God really is! I look at the news Jean received this week-end and stand in awe. Months have gone by with just a little early chemo and yet, there is no sign of cancer! After many weeks, her ankle is repaired and she is on the mend! How great is our God!!
Sometimes, I think we tend to put God in a safe little box. He sets on a shelf until we need him or he just happens to come to mind. We pray, but we put limits on his power… Well, I think this week-end was just another reminder that God is CAPABLE of whatever we need. If we put a limit on what we expect of him or a limit on our faith that he can accomplish anything, then our answers may come with limits. But I believe if we pray boldly AND according to God’s perfect will, our answers can be unlimited and boundless! I also know that his answer may not quite match up with what I was expecting, but his answer is always better, even if we don’t understand at the time. How great is our God!
My prayer all along, as hopefully yours has been too, that according to God’s perfect will, that there be total healing. That there be no sign of cancer. And today I pray that I never be tempted to limit our awesome God, or put him up on a shelf in a box.
James 5:16 says “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” It doesn’t say pray so you can feel a little better, it says “so that you may be HEALED”! Let’s throw the box away and give our almighty God the glory and thanks that he so richly deserves!
Pray for Jean and Tom, also pray for Rod, Jackie, King, Janet, Jody and so many others who need to feel his healing hand!
You can also post prayer requests on the web site!
In His light,
Lois
