Happy Monday!

I follow a few different groups on Facebook.  Some of these groups are very positive and encouraging.  Others, not so much.  As for those others, I am weeding them out.  Social media tends to get very dramatic sometimes and I really don’t believe that serves any purpose in my life.

The good ones, as a rule, are helpful.  Sometimes, I am the encourager and sometimes I am the encouraged!

Something I notice a lot on these groups though is fear.  I don’t think we begin to realize how fear can hold us back.  Fear in our weight loss efforts, what if I can’t lose the weight or… what if I DO lose the weight?  Is the extra weight your comfort, your safety zone?

Fear in our marriages, does he/she really love me?

Even the things we do, am I qualified?  Am I good enough?  The enemy is always there, more than willing to tell you no.

I’m curious.  What if you don’t accomplish your goal?  Will you be any worse off than when you started?  If you don’t accomplish the goal the first time, what do you need to do to change that.  So often, it’s the mindset.  I still struggle with that.  It is also SO much easier if you start every single day asking Jesus to walk this walk with you, to guide and strengthen you.  I found out a long time ago that I cannot and do not want to do any of it alone.  If you let the fear rule your life, you will eventually just give up.  We decide we will fail before we even try.  Fear will keep you stuck but God will keep you going!

Isaiah 43:1 “Don’t fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.” God actually commands us not to fear, or worry. The phrase “fear not” is used at least 80 times in the Bible, most likely because He knows the enemy uses fear to decrease our hope and limit our victories.

Psalm 31:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.

Pray Unceasingly!!

In His light,

Lois
