Happy New Year!!

I came across a scripture this past week that I think will be my “mantra” for 2020.

Psalm 31:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.

 It seems like every day, something happens, or is said, that wants to strike at me, to tear at my faith, my health or the people I love.  I don’t believe that it’s just me, but all of us.  The enemy is in a frenzy.  He wants to tear us away from all that is good.  When you are under attack, you become more vulnerable, and if you are more vulnerable, you are more easily swayed to believe the untruths that the enemy is trying to convince you of.

We are studying Ephesians, Chapter 6 in our Sunday School class.  And what a chapter it is!  It is very clear instruction of how to face these constant attacks.  Put on the armor of God and WIN the battle!

Ephesians 6:10-18 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Whole Armor of God

“10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”

 Then, feel free to adopt my new mantra too!

Psalm 31:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.

 Pray Unceasingly!!

In His light,

Lois
