Nation of Priests
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: {peculiar: or, purchased} {praises: or, virtues} (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)
How are you fulfilling your priesthood?
As a believer in Jesus Christ you are a priest. Look at these verses from Revelations:
Re 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Re 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
- Priests were chosen from among mankind for several reasons e.g. they were tempted by sin and can feel the infirmities which make us mortal.
- They were ordained by God for His service i.e. to be an intercessor for His people and to offer up gifts and sacrifices for sin.
- To have compassion on those with like infirmities.
Today intercede for someone you have compassion on. Ask Jesus to help you to offer up the sacrifices of praise and a prayer that will be well pleasing in His sight. So His will, will be done in their lives.
