Who is God to you
Is God the leader and Saviour in your life? What about your friend?
God’s word points to all of these and more. In the Old Testament, God went before His people as a pillar of fire and a pillar of a cloud. He went before them in battle as His presence and glory went before them on the Ark of the Covenant. Jesus said follow Me. Truly God is our Leader now and forever.
God is our Saviour. John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard [him] ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. 1John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world. Jesus God incarnate came to save the lost so we can have eternal life with Him. We are saved from the consequences of sin through His eternal sacrifice.
What about your friend? Jesus said, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (NKJV) John 15:14. Friends are well pleasing to each other and try not to offend each other’s rules. Jesus gives us the words of eternal life. How much more should we obey His words and keep them? In doing so we are His friends and are greatly blessed indeed.
